Watches That Turn Heads

If you want to be daring and a little bit crazy, there are watches to suit that mood too.

One of the greatest things about watches is that they come in all shapes, sizes, styles and designs. If you want to be elegant and classy, that's easy. If you want to be daring and a little crazy, there are watches to suit that mood too.

Some watches are purely an exercise in style, pushing the envelope with interesting color combinations, dial art, enamel, painting and more. Other watches combine complications to further enhance the art of watchmaking. For example, one master watchmaker who designs new movements and watches for many of the major brands, won't do a complication simply because it hasn't been done before, it has to have some usefulness. He will not do a dual tourbillon just because he can do it, there has to be a functional reason for the two tourbillons. If there is, he will build it.

Some watches do both - taking cutting edge elements of style and applying them to high watchmaking, with the result being truly extraordinary watches. That's what we have here - watches that are so out there, combining amazing watchmaking skill with cutting edge design. From the high jewelry watches of Piaget and Chopard to the high complications of Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, these watches are the best watchmaking has to offer.

These watches are at the very peak of watchmaking. In many cases, they are limited editions (and sometimes limited to how many a company can produce) and extraordinarily expensive. This is an area where the true watchmakers can flex their muscles, showing off their abilities for customers and other watch companies.

These watches aren't for everyone, they sell for more than most peoples net worth, but they are fun to look at and they give you an increased respect for the companies capable of this kind of work.
